Our childcare centers are open from 6:30 am until 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Holiday Closings
ChildServe Centers are closed on the following holidays:
• New Year’s Day
• Memorial Day
• Fourth of July
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Day after Thanksgiving
• Christmas Day
Staff Development Training
The ChildServe Childcare Centers will be closed one day per calendar year to conduct staff development training. This training day, for our Johnston and Ames centers, is typically scheduled for Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January. Our childcare staff is required to have ten hours of professional growth training, in addition to the training requirements set by ChildServe and DHS. You will be advised of the dates one month in advance.
Other Closings
We reserve the right to be closed on days other than those listed above. Notices will be posted in each classroom two weeks prior to a planned closing.
Closings, Inclement Weather, and Tuition
There is no reduction in tuition for the days the centers are closed. The centers will make every effort to remain open during inclement weather. The Ames and Johnston centers do not close based on the surrounding school district closing decisions. The Woodland Center however, follows the Des Moines School District’s closings for inclement weather.
