Jan L. Maltby, CLU, CLTC, from Ankeny, Iowa, secured a $5,000 grant from the MDRT Foundation on behalf of ChildServe.

Maltby, of Iowa Financial Partners and a 7-year MDRT member, is an active supporter of ChildServe and nominated and endorsed the grant application. ChildServe is a nonprofit organization that partners with families to help children with special health care needs live a great life. The MDRT Foundation grant will support the childcare program by helping to fund the new playground which was completed last autumn.

On May 1, 2009, ChildServe will host “Managing Tight, Rigid Muscles: Treatment Pathways,” a free CEU Conference for nurses and physicians. The conference features clinical speaker Ember Criswell, RN, a neurosurgery nurse at the Indianapolis Neurosurgical Group. Ryan Friesen, a Reimbursement Expert for Medtronics, will also speak over the luncheon.

ChildServe has received a grant from Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino through its 2008 Community Betterment Grant Program. Grant funds will help to expand ChildServe’s outpatient therapy program through the purchase of specialized pediatric therapy equipment.
