ChildServe Not Affected by Recalled H1N1 Vaccines
Wednesday, 16 December 2009 17:07

News sources have reported that 800,000 doses of H1N1 vaccine have been recalled nationwide, but ChildServe did not receive any of the recalled vaccine. ChildServe has administered more than 750 doses to staff and children who receive services and their families, but none were included in this week's recall.

ChildServe will be offering another H1N1 vaccine clinic from 3-7pm on Thursday, December 17 at ChildServe Center in Johnston (5406 Merle Hay Road, Entrance A). The clinic is open to:

  • All children who receive services and their families
  • All staff and their families
  • All volunteers and their families
All family members more than 6 months old and regardless of health status are now eligible. Children 6 months - 9 years old vaccinated at ChildServe on October 28, November 6, or November 13 are now encouraged to come in for a second dose.

Wednesday, 09 December 2009 19:29

Childcare Center and Outpatient Therapy Services to Close Wednesday, December 9
Tuesday, 08 December 2009 15:19
ChildServe Childcare Centers (Johnston, Ames, and Woodland Centers) will be closed and outpatient therapy services will be canceled on Wednesday, December 9 due to the severe winter storm. The national weather service is calling the storm "epic and extremely dangerous." We regret any inconvenience the closure may cause, but our first priority is the safety of our staff and the families we serve.

ChildServe Eases Visitor Restrictions
Monday, 16 November 2009 14:21
While measures to prevent the spread of flu remain at high levels, the restriction of visitors to immediate family over age 18 has been revised. Any visitors over the age of 18 may now access the Continuing Care or Transitional Care units. Visitors will continue to be screened for signs of illness, and we continue to emphasize good hygiene and infection control procedures. The volunteer program will remain suspended until further notice.
