Meet Tammy

Respiratory Therapist

For the past 15 years, Tammy Lutz has brought her expertise and heart to ChildServe as a dedicated respiratory therapist. Before joining our team, Tammy spent two decades in hospital ICUs, critical care and trauma units, building a strong foundation in lifesaving pulmonary care.

Looking for a new career direction, Tammy found her next chapter at ChildServe’s inpatient programs, where she continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of children with special healthcare needs and their families every day.

ChildServe respiratory therapists provide 24/7 medical care to kids and young adults who rely on trachs and ventilators to breathe. ChildServe‘s inpatient program currently serves 40 children and young adults with tracheostomies, and 27 of those individuals are also on a ventilator.

Tammy and our team of 35 respiratory therapists at ChildServe play a vital role in helping kids be kids.

“What I enjoy most about working for ChildServe are the interactions I get to have with the children we serve and our team members,” said Tammy. “As respiratory therapists at ChildServe, we work in a setting that’s less intense than a trauma unit or ER, but no less meaningful. The culture here is great and our team always makes the care we give fun and uplifting. I always tell people, even on the toughest days at work, we are truly fortunate to work at ChildServe.”
The special connection to the children we serve, and their families, is what makes working at ChildServe so meaningful to Tammy. Whether it’s helping kids celebrate holidays, participate in activities they love or go on outings, Tammy plays an impactful role in making these special memories possible.
Our respiratory therapists collaborate with many experts at ChildServe, including specialty pediatric nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, dietitians and speech, occupational and physical therapists. Join in on the fun with this collaborative team at an organization that has earned a Top Workplace award every year since 2014!
