We had another great time this year at ChildServe’s Run, Walk and FUN 4 the Kids!
Runners and walkers alike enjoyed a fresh breeze as they navigated the 5k course in the Johnston neighborhoods just north of ChildServe’s campus. After the 5k race and 1 mile walk, more fun was had at the finish line festival, which featured a vast array of activities including crafts, carnival games, spin art, face painting and a pancake breakfast.
Over 1,100 people participated and over 100 volunteers donated their time to help make the event a success. All proceeds will support ChildServe‘s summer activities and programs for children with special healthcare needs. Activities include going to baseball games, the zoo, the pool, Adventureland and more.
“We want to provide an opportunity for people to become involved with us. This is a great way for those who know about us and those who don’t to see what we do in a fun and positive way,” said Cheri Burns, Director of Development and Community Relations.
The Run, Walk and Fun 4 the Kids has allowed us to brighten up the summer vacations of the children we serve!
