Outpatient Therapy

Building Skills After a Brain Injury

ChildServe offers specialized outpatient therapy programs for children and young adults recovering from a brain injury or concussion. Our pediatric rehab experts provide speech, physical, and occupational therapy focused on improving communication, physical movement and strength, and daily life skills. We assist children and young adults across a wide range of needs. This includes those moving home from our Inpatient Brain Injury Program, transitioning out of our Concussion Clinic, and those who received immediate care elsewhere but are ready for outpatient therapy.

Who We Serve

ChildServe provides expert care to children and young adults (birth through 21 years old) who experienced the following medical conditions related to a brain injury:

Traumatic brain injury from accident or injury

Brain bleed, or bruise (Hematoma/Hemorrhage/Aneurysm)

Lack of oxygen to the brain

Stroke

Tumors

Infection (Encephalitis/Meningitis)

Severe Concussion

Our Programs

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy helps children and young adults improve their ability to move and function. ChildServe Physical Therapists focus on motor skills such as walking, balance, coordination, and strength that may have been affected by a brain injury. ChildServe Physical Therapists also identify any special adaptive equipment needed to help children or young adults move about their world.

Speech-language Therapy

Speech-language therapy helps children and young adults re-learn to communicate and improve eating and swallowing. ChildServe Speech-Language Therapists focus on rebuilding skills such as talking, understanding, social skills, and thinking. ChildServe Speech-Language Therapists also help children with feeding and swallowing challenges that may occur following a brain injury.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps children and young adults improve their physical, sensory and cognitive skills to function in their homes, schools, and communities. ChildServe Occupational Therapists use special techniques to develop physical coordination, organization and planning skills so children can be successful in their world. ChildServe Occupational Therapists also help children and young adults improve skills for listening, attention, decision-making and memory.
