ChildServe’s 2019 Bubble Ball stunned from start to finish as over 90 local designers brought the “Musical Mashup” theme to life through their musical-inspired bubble wrap creations. The evening popped with show-stopping musical numbers, jaw-dropping designs, surprise acrobatics and aerialists acts from performers in costumes so amazing you can hardly believe they’re made of bubble wrap. (Thankfully we have pictures and video to prove it).

Over 1,000 attendees enjoyed the evening filled with wearable and stationary bubble wrap designs, live music from the Brazilian 2wins, delicious food, and a spectacular runway show. Thanks to the generosity of the guests and sponsors, the 9th annual Bubble Ball event brought in over $480,000, an increase of more than $100,000 from the previous year.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity of our board and committee members, sponsors, designers, models and volunteers,” said ChildServe CEO Teri Wahlig, MD. “This signature event has now raised a total of $1.85 million to help children with special healthcare needs live a great life!”

Several special guests graced the show: Carsten and Bo shined as characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the runway, and Naz, dressed as Annie, greeted guests on their way into the party. Each of these children receives services through ChildServe, and they were joined by therapists, nurses, family and friends to celebrate their determination and hard work.

“The 2019 Bubble Ball was an incredible show of support from our design team, sponsors, board members, models, volunteers and team members,” says Erica Axiotis, Director of Development. “Everyone gave from their hearts and helped us shatter the record for fundraising to support the children and families we serve each day.”

When it comes to bringing the runway show to life, passionate volunteers who are committed to ChildServe’s mission make all the difference.

“We are so thankful for the leadership of the committee from sponsorship to décor to runway and production to design team,” says Erica. “They are what makes this event so unique and keeps the sold-out crowd coming back every year.”
