Introducing the Bioness Vector System

We are ‘Out of this World’ excited to share that Bubble Ball 2022 has successfully funded the Bioness Vector System — a specialized rehabilitation tool that provides the powerful gift of hope — by helping children and young adults learn to walk again.
“It is our pleasure to share that, with the generous support of our donors, ChildServe will be the first pediatric provider in Iowa to offer this technology to children and families,” says Vice President of Development Erica Axiotis.
The Bioness Vector System can help children recover from a car accident, stroke, or illnesses that affect the spinal cord and brain, such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy or seizure disorders.

The system utilizes a ceiling-mounted robotic rail system with 52 feet of track. A child or young adult is connected to the system, using a harness to support their weight as the individual relearns activities during therapy. The system also detects and prevents falls before they happen, keeping kids safe and increasing their confidence.
