Bubble Ball 2018 – Kids, Cartoons, and Comics

From giant comic books and superheroes, to Scooby-Doo, the Minions, and Charlie Brown, Bubble Ball 2018 popped with outstanding bubble wrap creations. This year’s Kids, Cartoons, and Comics theme challenged over 70 local designers to bring their favorite characters to life.

Over 1,000 attendees enjoyed the evening filled with wearable and stationary bubble wrap designs, live music from the Brazilian 2wins, delicious food, and a spectacular runway show. Check out the 2018 Gallery to see the over 150 bubble wrap creations for yourself!

Bubble Ball has raised nearly $1,350,000 since the inaugural event in 2011, and has more than tripled its attendance. Tracy Fuller White, co-chair and event coordinator for Bubble Ball, explains that passionate volunteers make all the difference.

“Where else in the world are there 300 volunteers that work year after year to make the event come together?” says Tracy. “In the months leading up to the event, over 4,800 hours were donated by designers, models, hair and make-up teams, entertainers, board and committee members and more. I am thrilled, privileged, and honored to be a part of this amazing phenomenon.”

Several surprise guests made their debut on the runway this year: Ava as Minnie Mouse, and brothers Carsten and Bo as characters from Toy Story. Each of these children has received services through ChildServe, and they walked the runway with therapists, team members, and friends to celebrate their determination and hard work.

Thanks to the generosity of the guests and sponsors, the 8th annual Bubble Ball event brought in over $345,000 which will go toward helping children with special healthcare needs live a great life.
