Parent Talking to Child

For the 8th year in a row, ChildServe was named a Top Workplace by the Des Moines Register. We earned the #12 spot in the Large Company category for 2021, which is filled with big names like Edward Jones, Veridian Credit Union and more.

The Top Workplace award is based on feedback from employees about their engagement at work. The program recognizes outstanding employers on the regional and national level.

“The ChildServe team truly embraces the mission to help children with special healthcare needs live a great life,” said Teri Wahlig, M.D., CEO at ChildServe. “I could not be prouder of their hard work and dedication, especially this past year facing the many challenges brought on by the global pandemic. Team members went above and beyond to create new ways of caring, they leaned on each other for support, and rose to meet every challenge.”

According to the survey, which is administered by Energage, team members value organizational health. Employees identify with the company’s vision, are challenged by a high-performance culture, and feel that they are valued and that their voices are heard.

“The ChildServe culture is like none other,” said Dr. Wahlig. “We believe in caring for others with acceptance and love. We believe in building partnerships through trust, collaboration, and commitment. We believe in integrity, uncompromising standards of business, and the passionate pursuit of excellence. And above all, we believe in the spirit of a child!”
