ChildServe is excited to announce that we have received a 2023 Top Workplaces USA award. This national recognition celebrates companies that make the world a better place to work by prioritizing a people-centered culture and giving employees a voice.

“It is an honor for ChildServe to be recognized as a Top Workplace for the tenth consecutive year,” said Teri Wahlig, M.D., ChildServe CEO. “Over the past several years, our team members have experienced significant challenges navigating healthcare through a global pandemic and exciting opportunities as we continue to expand our locations and services across the state. Through it all, we have agreed we will not compromise our culture or the quality of care we provide. We have remained true to that commitment to ourselves, making the families we serve and our organizational culture a priority, all while helping children with special healthcare needs life a great life.”

The Top Workplace award is based on feedback from employees about their engagement at work.  The program recognizes outstanding employers on the regional and national level.

Here’s what our team had to say about ChildServe’s culture:

  • “One of my favorite things about ChildServe is the constant growth. Whether it is physical growth with expanding our building and team or the learning opportunities, ChildServe is always trying to be the best for the families we serve. I am constantly learning new things, not only from my co-workers but also from the kids and their families.” – Emily Corr | ChildServe – Iowa City Respite and Supported Community Living (SCL) Supervisor.
  • “I love having the capacity to learn every day while supporting kids with special healthcare needs and their families. I have the most supportive and incredibly strong team at ChildServe.” – Aerika Budd | Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Clinical Team Lead
  • “It’s hard to compare other places to ChildServe. I have worked in nursing homes and hospitals and it is just a totally different atmosphere than here. Everything at ChildServe is bright and bubbly, and it truly just feels like home!” – Cheyenne Spahr | CNA CMA
