Parent Talking to Child

For the 7th year in a row, ChildServe was named a Top Workplace by the Des Moines Register. We earned the #15 spot in the Large Company category for 2020. ChildServe stands out as the only non-profit or healthcare organization in our category, which is filled with big names like Edward Jones, Veridian Credit Union and more.

The Top Workplace award is based on feedback from employees about their engagement at work. The program recognizes outstanding employers on the regional and national level.

“When you share a mission as meaningful as helping children with special healthcare needs live a great life, the stakes are high,” said Teri Wahlig, M.D., CEO at ChildServe. “2020 has brought many unexpected challenges, but our team has never wavered from our dedication to the kids we serve. From launching telehealth for the first time, to implementing pandemic-level infection control procedures, I’ve seen innovation, adaptation, and passion from every team member. Their heart for what we do is a key to making ChildServe a top workplace.”

According to the survey, which is administered by Energage, team members value knowing that their work makes a difference, having managers that set high expectations and take an active role in their growth, and sharing a clear vision organization-wide.

“The Top Workplace survey gives us incredible insight into the experience and perspective of our employees,” said Jay Winger, Vice President of Human Resources at ChildServe. “We’re grateful and proud to have engaged and passionate team members. When challenges arise, our employees come together to achieve our goals for every child we serve.”
