Julie’s Story

After 16 years as a ChildServe Speech-Language Pathologist, Julie Speck, MA SLP, has time and time again been taught the meaning of hope.

“One of the best moments that I ever had while working at ChildServe was with a family that shared with me that I had given them hope,” said Julie. “I love knowing that families coming to ChildServe feel supported on their journey in raising their children.”

Working at ChildServe, Julie has seen how the power of partnership has helped kids and families reach the goals that are most important to them.

“What I love most about my job is supporting families to help their child reach full potential,” said Julie. “At ChildServe, parents are allowed in sessions. This way, I am able to demonstrate techniques based on our speech goals.”

Not only has Julie enjoyed watching the kids she serves grow, but she is also given opportunities to grow herself.

“ChildServe has given me the ability to expand my professional skills,” said Julie. “I have had opportunities through collaboration with colleagues on a multi-disciplinary team and extensive continuing education courses on-site and online.”
