ChildServe Named to Iowa’s Top Workplaces 2019

Celebrating our 6th consecutive year!

Parent Talking to Child

For the 6th year in a row, ChildServe was named a Top Workplace by the Des Moines Register. We earned the #12 spot in the Large Company category. ChildServe stands out as the only non-profit organization in our category, which is filled with big names like Edward Jones, Principal, and more.

The Top Workplaces program recognizes outstanding employers on the regional and national level. The award is based on the responses and feedback team members provided about their engagement at ChildServe.

“ChildServe is a one-of-a-kind organization offering specialty programs for children of all ages with special healthcare needs,” said Teri Wahlig, M.D., CEO at ChildServe. “But what truly makes us stand out is the passion of our team members who are committed to making a difference for the children and families we serve. Our culture is shaped by their energy and belief in the spirit of a child.”

According to the survey, team members value knowing that their work makes a difference, having managers that set high expectations and take an active role in their growth, and sharing a clear vision organization-wide.

“Our staff engagement percentage is near world-class levels,” said Jay Winger, Vice President of Human Resources at ChildServe. “When you have a team that puts their focus on one mission, you can endure challenges and achieve outcomes more easily. There is a spirit of innovation at ChildServe that is inspired by one question, ‘How can do more for the families we serve?’”
