ChildServe Receives Meaningfulness Award at 2023 Iowa Top Workplaces Celebration

ChildServe is pleased to announce that we have once again been recognized as a Top Workplace for 2023. ChildServe earned the top spot for the “Meaningfulness” award across all participating organizations in the Des Moines Register’s 2023 Iowa Top Workplaces survey. This recognition was based on responses to the question: My job makes me feel like I am part of something meaningful.

Additionally, for the 10th year in a row, ChildServe was named among the top 20 Top Workplaces by the Des Moines Register, earning the #15 spot in the Large Company category for 2023. The Top Workplace award is based on feedback from employees about their engagement at work. The program recognizes outstanding employers on the regional and national level.

“It is truly an honor for ChildServe to be recognized this year with the Meaningfulness Award and to once again be recognized as a Top Workplace. This is a testament to our team members across the state who go above and beyond every day to fulfill our mission,” said Dr. Teri Wahlig, ChildServe CEO.

“In fact, we often hear when families, guests and community members come through our doors, we have something so magical at ChildServe you can feel it. While some may say it’s our breadth of services for children of all ages and abilities, we know it’s a combination of the children and families we serve, our skilled team members who believe in the spirit of every child, and our commitment to partner with those families to help children with special healthcare needs live a great life.”

According to the survey, which is administered by Energage, team members say they:

  • value organizational health
  • identify with the company’s vision
  • enjoy being challenged by a high-performance culture, and
  • feel that they are valued and that their voices are heard.
We’re grateful to the 1,500 ChildServe employees at locations across Iowa working toward one incredibly meaningful mission: We partner with families to help children with special healthcare needs live a great life. The difference staff make in the lives of many does not go unnoticed! Curious about what makes ChildServe a meaningful place to work? Hear from our team members below!

When I was first looking for a job, I was seeking a place that would provide me with experience working directly with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. What I did not know before coming to ChildServe is how special of a place this is to work, and how much I would fall in love with this clinic and the people I work with every day. I have never worked somewhere quite like ChildServe.

At ChildServe, everyone knows the mission, and it’s the number one priority. As team members, we live that mission every day to ensure those we serve live a great life. I love it when people ask me what I do, so I can proudly say that I work for ChildServe.

Cody Campbell

Inpatient Services Operations Manager, ChildServe

What makes working at ChildServe unique is the mere fact that I get the opportunity to work with children with special needs. I love knowing that I am part of a community that makes a difference in their lives, no matter how small or big it is.

Ayesha Coop

Pediatric Long-term Care Nurse, ChildServe

ChildServe’s powerful mission stood out to me during my job search. Our mission and values support a team of caring individuals who build strong relationships with the children and families we serve. This allows for optimal therapeutic outcomes and instills confidence within the kids and families we serve to take on the world outside of our clinic.

Molly Boell

Occupational Therapist, ChildServe

At ChildServe we often talk about the spirit of a child. It’s that curiosity, joy, hope and imagination that helps kids turn a card box into a rocket ship. That’s what we’re proud to bring to our work at ChildServe.

– Dr. Teri Wahlig, ChildServe CEO.
