When Irlanda was nine, an unexpected illness turned into a life-changing experience. With a long road to recovery in front of her, she arrived at ChildServe in Jojo’s Inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit where she found her home away from home for six weeks.

For 9-year-old Bennett, developing a typical relationship with food has been a complicated journey. Since combining feeding therapy and mental health services at ChildServe, Bennett has gone from receiving most of his calories through supplementation to just 350 daily calories away from weaning off entirely!

Though Zena’s “one-of-a-kind” diagnosis came with uncertainty, her unique, fighting spirit continues to drive her forward to a new kind of uncertainty- one without limits. With lots of hard work in speech, occupational and physical therapy, Zena is building the life of her dreams with help from her ChildServe team.

When 18-year-old Shane was in a motorcycle accident, he experienced severe injuries to his brain and spinal cord. With support from his ChildServe team, and a variety of specialty equipment and technology, he fought hard to regain the strength to walk and talk.

From busy nights cheering on her team to scoring the winning goal on the soccer field, Shae is used to going full speed in pursuit of her passions. However, approaching her senior year, Shae was stopped in her tracks after experiencing a serious concussion. Shae began therapy in ChildServe’s Concussion Clinic to help her recover.
